Cybersecurity under the new EU Machinery regulation (EU 2023/1230)
From
January 20th 2027, the new mandatory requirements of the EU
Machinery Regulation (EU 2023/1230) come into force. Among other, introducing
requirements on cybersecurity of products put on the European market. Therefore,
the preliminary standard prEN50742 has been drafted, with the aim to be
harmonized, to help manufacturers show compliance. At this training course,
Intertek will present the new cyber-related requirements, standards and share
some of our learnings and best practices.
When the new EU Machinery Regulation now comes into force as a mandatory requirement, you as a manufacturer or importer of connected electrical products in the EU, now need to review your CE documentation as well as your products for compliance to the specific cyber requirements. In addition, you will need to update your technical file with proof of compliance. Is the product in its current form compliant? You may need to modify the design? Is my current documentation in line with best practices? Familiarize yourself with these new requirements and latest best practices now!

After the course you will be well acquainted with the cybersecurity requirements in the EU Machinery Regulation and especially the latest on the standard and how to implement it efficiently to assure compliance.

Prerequisites
We recommend that you have basic knowledge of the EU Machinery Regulation. This training only focusses on the new cyber-related requirements of the EU Machinery Regulation and NOT the other parts of the regulation.

IoT Cyber Security Evaluator
Andreas is IoT Cybersecurity Evaluator at Intertek with a background as a Engineer (B.Sc.) in electrical engineering with a focus on automation from LTH. He has experience working with the standard EN 18031 since the final version was published in February and works on evaluating cybersecurity in connected products. As of the beginning of the year, Andreas is a member of the SIS technical working group AG61, which includes work within CEN/CLC WG6–9.
